Memory Expander
We directed an animated film for Samsung to visualize the concept behind their Memory Expander technology. The brief set a singular, focused design challenge: communicate complex, invisible data flow relying exclusively on circles as the core visual motif.
Working within this constraint required finding narrative depth directly through motion design. By experimenting with scale, pacing, and particle behaviors, each sequence adopted a distinct visual metaphor, transitioning from minimal vector layouts into richer compositions enhanced with gradients, grain textures, and subtle shading against a deep background palette.
From early style exploration and storyboarding to final illustration and animation direction, the resulting piece transforms abstract technical processes into an intuitive, rhythmic, and visually engaging product story.
